The Prefecture of Drama has three large lakes, Lake Lefkogeion, Lake Kataphytos and Lake Kokkinogeion.

Next to the town and on the way to the Aggiti cave are Kokkinogeia. At the exit of the settlement and up the road is the artificial lake of Kokkinogeion. A beautiful water surface, with greenery, recreational areas, a cafe, trees, birds and very quiet. The place is idyllic for camping and picnicking and people celebrate it on S/K and holidays.

The artificial lake of Kataphytos is located near the border with Bulgaria, which in a few years has become a rich habitat for the fauna of the area and also a recreational oasis for walkers. The lake is surrounded by habitats that are famous for the wealth of fauna and flora they host. It is located at the westernmost point of the prefecture of Drama, just a few hundred meters from the border with the prefecture of Serres.

At a distance of 8 kilometers from Kato Nevrokopi there is an artificial lake Lefkogeion. The lake was formed by the construction of a dam, to retain the waters of the Myloremos, to satisfy the irrigation needs of the surrounding cultivated land. The forest vegetation of the area consists mainly of pine and oak forests.
